Olivia Attwood has revealed the real reason she was forced to quit I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! early, and says she can't watch the series because she feels so sad at not being in it.

The former Love Island star was shown in the first episode of the ITV series completing a sky dive and taking on the first bushtucker trial, but after 24 hours it was announced that she had been removed from camp on medical grounds.

She appeared in her first TV interview since leaving Australia on Monday where she spoke to This Morning about the real reason she had left the show.

Attwood, 31, told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: "'Is Olivia Atwood pregnant' was trending on Twitter. It’s not that, I can assure you."

She continued: "I was pulled out on my first day in camp for routine medical checks. My iron was low, I was anaemic, potassium was really low, sodium was really low.

"They consulted with a doctor outside of camp and said I would need to come into A&E with those readings. They ran their own checks and it came back as normal."

Talking about her long drive from camp to hospital, Attwood said: "I was thinking am I pregnant or have I picked up a virus, and also I felt well. I was loving it, I was in my element and I felt healthy."

Attwood said that she had been sent to a hotel for the night and woke up in the morning to be told that while production staff were keen to have her back in camp, the medical team disagreed in case she became ill which would cause insurance difficulties.

Talking about her disappointment, she added: "I’ve been a big fan of the show all my life. Those conversations about the jungle started the year I left Love Island so it’s been five years in the making for that moment."

Asked how she would have handled the awkwardness of being in camp with disgraced former health secretary Matt Hancock, Attwood agreed that it would have been a difficult balance.

She said: "When you’re living with someone you have to take things carefully. I would have probably done it with humour, given him a bit of stick that he deserves.

"It’s hard because even though it is funny, a lot of what happened when he was in his position is not funny and if you’re someone who lost a relative and didn’t get to say goodbye to them while he’s snogging the face off his secretary, it’s not funny."

Attwood admitted she would love to have a try at the ITV series another year, but said that there would be problems with moving her other filming commitments around again.

She said: "I’m grateful I’m healthy but it makes it harder to accept because I’m frustrated.

"I’m not 'watching watching' (the series) because it’s made me feel sad, I’ve got FOMO."

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
