Olivia Colman left fans in stitches after calling BBC Radio 1 to pull a hilarious prank on her old friend Paul Rudd.

Ant-Man star Rudd was on the radio with presenter Greg James and was taking calls from the public when an unknown woman with a Welsh accent rang in to ask him what he’d do in her predicament.

She then proceeded to explain that she had a really good friend who had come to the UK without even bothering to tell her he was in town – then turned up on the radio.

“So what would you do if you had a really, like a really good mate, like for over 20 years, and then this friend, yeah, he doesn't live in England, but he's come to England but he hasn't told you about it.

"Then, not only has he not told you about it, he's come on to a radio show.”

Rudd started to blush as the penny dropped and he realised the call might have something to with him.

“Oh my God, oh no..." he stammered, as the caller asked if he’d be “offended” in that situation.

“Personally, if it's me, absolutely not,” he insisted.

James then asked the caller to identify themselves and Rudd looked stunned to discover it was his good friend Colman.

“God, you really can do every accent!” he exclaimed, as he started to laugh.

Listeners thought the whole thing was hilarious.

“Loved this, brilliant prank,” one person wrote on Instagram.
