John Easterling is officially saying goodbye to the California ranch that he shared with his late wife Olivia Newton-John.

Nearly two years after Easterling lost the Grease star to breast cancer in August 2022, the naturopathic entrepreneur has decided to list the Santa Ynez estate where Newton-John spent her final days for $8.9 million.

“Olivia and I made many wonderful memories at our home in Florida and the ranch in California. The message that keeps coming through so clearly is to love life, live life, and never forget about the good things that are going on,” Easterling tells PEOPLE.

“The ‘Indian Way’ Ranch in Santa Ynez is a spectacular property where I can see a new family having great nature adventures and relishing the life experience,” he continues. “I’ll still maintain a presence in both Florida and California.”

Newton-John and Easterling first met in the mid-2000s when they were both working with an environmental nonprofit. The pair later tied the knot in June 2008 through two separate ceremonies, including an Incan spiritual ceremony held on a mountaintop outside of Peru, followed by an intimate Florida ceremony attended by friends and family.

Since losing his wife, Easterling has dedicated his time to life-saving cancer research and the benefits of plant medicine through the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund. Newton-John’s daughter, Chloe Rose Lattanzi, has also committed herself to honoring her mother’s dream for cancer research and awareness.

Of the singer-songwriter's belongings from the ranch, Easterling tells PEOPLE, “Besides some of the personal effects that Chloe and I are keeping, many of Olivia‘s treasures will be sold at a Julien’s Auctions later this year.”

He continues, “Part of the proceeds from this auction will go to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund where we’re making historical progress with the research on plant medicine and cancer. This was Olivia’s dream and I promised her I would follow this through.”
