UK Eurovision's Olly Alexander 'changes' entry as revamp send fans wild in Sweden
Olly Alexander has been causing quite a stir in Sweden, with him debuting a drastically different version of his entry Dizzy, ahead of his televised performance in Tuesday's first semi final.
In a big break with Eurovision tradition, the Big 5 - the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Germany and France - and host nation Sweden will actually take to the stage in the semis, to give fans a first look at their performances ahead of competing in the grand final. In the past, each country has had to wait until the finale to perform, but on Tuesday night, UK act Olly will be part of the Eurovision semi final 1 line-up, although he won't be competing for votes.
Eurovision fans have now descended on host city Malmo en masse, with the live arena shows beginning with two dress rehearsals for the semi on Monday. And clips from Olly's performance, with the singer and his dancers in a 'dystopian locker room' set have been spreading like wild fire on social media.

And, as well as the visuals, including a frenzy of pyrotechnics in the closing moments, have been causing a stir, there have been significant alterations made to the track itself, including an orchestra style build into the final chorus, as Olly walks away from the set and towards the front of the stage and a massive crescendo, which gives Olly the chance to belt out some big notes as the song draws to a dramatic conclusion.
Fans have been going wild for the new version of Dizzy and the attention grabbing staging on X (Twitter) Waxing lyrical about the staging, one enthused: "Olly Alexander’s staging is genuinely the best I’ve ever seen at Eurovision - looks just like a music video. Incredible," with another writing: "THESE PERFORMANCE CLIPS IM ACTUALLY ON THE FLOOR OLLY ALEXANDER I LOVE YOU SO MUCH"
