Sports fans will be able to watch some of the biggest events on the big screen in Exeter city centre this year. There will be six weeks of live coverage during the summer.

Viewers will be able to watch Wimbledon, the Tour de France and the Olympics on a giant screen in Princesshay Square. The square is also being transformed into Princesshay Green, with picnic benches, deckchairs, a food van and outdoor games.

The screenings will be free to attend but visitors can also purchase food and drink from various food outlets. Cha Bar van will be serving up bubble tea and bingsu desserts, meanwhile Wagamama, POP Kitchen and Yo! Sushi will all be providing takeaway options.

Further entertainment is being offered in the form of outdoor games in Princesshay's summer garden, including table tennis, a giant chess board and connect 4.

The Tour de France and Wimbledon will be the first events to get underway, starting next week. The Olympic Games, which are being held in Paris this year, will start on July 26.

Hannah Overton, Princesshay Marketing and Commercial Manger says: "We're excited to bring back the big screen for Wimbledon with the addition of the Tour de France and Olympics being aired this summer too. We hope this will prove to be a popular pitstop as part of a trip into Exeter. Visitors will also be able to enjoy outdoor games on our summer green including table tennis, a giant chess board, connect 4 and more."

Screenings start on July 1 and will continue for six weeks, ending on August 11.
