Once Upon a Time season 7 WILL feature the Wicked Witch
Once Upon a Time fans rejoice!
It turns out that, having announced her own departure from the show back in May, Rebecca Mader is returning for season 7's reboot.
The actress was initially confirmed to be leaving alongside the likes of Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, but now it seems there's been a change of mind (via TV Line).
Mader, who has appeared as the sister of Lana Parrilla's Regina, the Wicked Witch Zelena, has confirmed she will be appearing in multiple episodes of season 7.
"I am beyond thrilled to be returning to make magic with my beloved Once Upon a Time family," she said.
"I'm excited for this next chapter – wicked always wins!"
There's no word yet, though, on if Mader will be reprising her role as Zelena or in some other incarnation.
We also know Lana Parrilla (Regina), Robert Carlyle (Rumpelstiltskin) and Colin O'Donoghue (Hook) are all returning for the reboot but it's goodbye to Morrison, Goodwin and Dallas, along with Jared Gilmore and Emilie de Ravin.
Joining the cast are Andrew J West and Alison Fernandez as grown-up Henry and his daughter Lucy respectively, Gabrielle Anwar as Lady Tremaine, Dania Ramirez as a recast Cinderella, and Mekia Cox as Tiana.
Adelaide Kane and Rose Reynolds will recur in the upcoming series as Cinderella's stepsisters Drizella and Alice.
Once Upon a Time season 7 premieres on ABC on Friday, October 6 at 8/7c.
