One Dead, Several Injured in Russian Strikes on Mykolaiv, Ukrainian Officials Say

At least one person was killed and 23 injured, including a child, after Russian missiles struck the southern port city of Mykolaiv in the early hours of Thursday, April 27, Ukrainian officials said.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said: “Russia shelled Mykolaiv with four Kalibr missiles launched from the Black Sea. High-precision weapons were aimed at private houses, a historic building and a high-rise building.”

Mykolaiv Oblast Governor Vitaly Kim reported that the attack was ongoing as of 1 am local time. He also said that two fires broke out, which were quickly extinguished by emergency services.

The city’s mayor, Oleksandr Sienkovych, told Suspilne that an educational institution and an administrative building were damaged.
