One Dead, Two Injured, Following Explosion at Utah Dog Breeder's House

One person was killed and a further two injured when an explosion occurred at the home of Cache County dog breeders on Thursday, March 9.

Cache County Sheriff’s Office said that fire units arrived at the scene of the house explosion, where they had been told there were three occupants, at approximately 6pm on Thursday.

Occupants Caryn and Joshua Mullin were transported to Logan Regional Hospital and Cache Valley Hospital, respectively, and are being treated for multiple burns, according to the police. John Mullin died in the explosion.

Police reported that there were 16 dogs inside the home at the time of the explosion, and approximately 30 dogs in a separate structure elsewhere on the property. Five dogs were recovered from the home and are being cared for at the New Vision Intake and Animal Shelter, where three of the dogs are in critical condition.

All other dogs found on the property are being cared for by family members, according to the police.
