One Direction Thank Fans Following Emotional X Factor Performance

Last night might have been the X Factor 2015 grand finale, but if we’re being entirely honest One Direction’s final performance before their break is what really stole the show.

Taking to the stage midway through Sunday night’s episode of the ITV talent show, our four fave boys gave an amazing rendition of their new single, ‘Infinity’, before we were treated to a whole load of surprises.

Simon Cowell, who mentored the boys when they took part in the show back in 2010, revealed that he’d sneakily got a load of One Direction’s famous pals to film a heartfelt video message as they gear up for their hiatus.

David Beckham, James Corden, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Jack Whitehall, and Wayne Rooney were among the celeb faces to wish Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan luck on their break, although we couldn’t help but feel that Simon had missed a trick by not getting Katy Perry involved.

After all, she’s a big part of their X Factor roots.

Clearly overwhelmed by the love, 1D embraced one another while watching the tribute video before taking to the stage for a second time, performing fan ode ‘History’.

As they played, a video montage of the boys growing up in the spotlight appeared on the screens behind them, ensuring that there wasn’t a single dry eye in the house as the four boys gave each other a massive cuddle and no doubt shed a secret tear or two.

It didn’t take long for #ThisIsNotTheEndOfOneDirection to become the top Twitter trend worldwide, with fans across the globe taking to their social media pages to thank the boys for the last five years.

And obviously, being the well-brought-up boys that they are, 1D returned the favour, with Louis and Harry taking to their own Twitter pages to thank the fans.

Referencing ‘History’, 21-year-old Hazza wrote: “To you, you have changed our lives and no words will ever be good enough to thank you for what we have done together.

“You are the greatest team mates we have ever known. Thank you.”

Louis added: “Well that was an emotional night !! Never can we thank you enough for how special you have made the last five years for us!

“I hope you realise what we have all done together really is incredible. You guys have made us what we are today! We’ll be back soon enough!”
