Glen Powell's dog, Brisket, is on his way to superstardom.

While the 35-year-old actor is having a busy summer as the star of both action-rom-com Hit Man (streaming on Netflix June 7) and disaster movie Twisters (in theaters July 19) — and the producer of aviation documentary The Blue Angels — it's Brisket who's "really made it," Powell tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week's issue.

Case in point: Powell's last memorable fan interaction involved a passerby who noticed the terrier poodle mix, adopted from the Labelle Foundation, before recognizing the Top Gun: Maverick star.

Out and about in New York City, "there was a girl," Powell recalls, "and Brisket was walking up. And she goes, 'Oh, my God, that looks exactly like Glen Powell's dog.' She didn't even see me."

It wasn't until she looked up, adds Powell, that she realized it was indeed his pooch. "He's definitely developed a following, for sure." Read on for more of Powell's memorable moments for PEOPLE's One Last Thing, also available in the latest issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday.

Last obsession

When I was on Top Gun and Devotion and [producing the documentary] The Blue Angels, around the best pilots in the world, who work on the coolest planes in the world — you become obsessed with aviation. It’s aspirational and inspirational, and it becomes infectious.

Last thing I took from a set

On Twisters, I took the grille from my truck, the “Tornado Wrangler.” It’s going to be my coffee table.

Last gift I gave

My agent, last week, had a pretty intense week. He didn’t have time to leave the office until 10 every night. So I got a mobile bartender to go to his office and make him a martini.

Last moment of self-care

I invite a bunch of my friends to a sauna or cold-plunge place, and we’ll just spend a few hours in there catching up. It becomes a thing where we can all gather, the equivalent of going to a bar. I love a really hot sauna.
