A burger restaurant which has won legions of fans in its two Welsh locations is about to expand and open a third. Burger Boyz, which is based at Newport Market and Commercial Road in Port Talbot, has announced it is about to open a third location in Swansea. It will be part of the food court at the newly-renovated Albert Hall in June.

The food court will also include parmesan fried chicken restaurant Mr Croquewich, Greek street food venue Ya Souvlaki, Pizza Boyz, Indian Street Food Kitchen, Italian street food The Italian Job, and Academy, which will sell speciality coffee and cocktails.

Burger Boyz was launched by school mates Marcin Sadlos and Jack Phillips back in 2021, who quit their full-time jobs in the engineering industry after finding success pursuing a career in the culinary world, first buying a food truck, before taking over the kitchen at The Red Lion pub in Port Talbot. They went on to secure a spot at Newport Market, before going on to open a restaurant in Port Talbot. They also bought a food truck which is used to attend events, called The Truck Norris, named after its best-selling burger the Chuck Norris. The restaurant's menu consists of seven different burgers, along with loaded fries and sides, and has gained a great reputation for the quality of its food. We tried it ourselves last year. It has been visited by professional competitive eaters at its Port Talbot restaurant, including Randy Santel, Katina Eats Kilos, Joel Hansen (modelvsfood) and Leah Shutkever.

Mr Sadlos said he and Mr Phillips are now in a position to grow the business by opening the new site in Swansea, and are also hoping to open another venue in Cardiff in 2025. He said: "Expanding into Swansea has been something we've been thinking about for a while, and this opportunity arose to move into the Albert Hall. We've both always loved food, and that's how the whole thing started. We had a complete different change in career, and the rest is history.

"We love what we do and as we grow we try and grow the team. Looking back on it, it was just supposed to be a little side hustle alongside our jobs, and it kind of grew and grew, and it continuing to grow. Our Chuck Norris burger is our best seller by far, but we've got quite a few burgers on our menu that people will enjoy, such as the Brian Griffin burger which has got peanut butter in. It's such a good combination." Try WalesOnline Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features.
