Ontario Braces for First Major Snowstorm of the Season

The first major snowstorm of the season threatened parts of Ontario with over 30 cm (11.8 inches) of snowfall on Monday, November 27.

Footage taken by Brian Smith shows “big snowflakes” falling in West Guilford, Ontario, northeast of Toronto.

“Good day for a fire and staying warm,” Smith wrote on X.

Snow squall warnings were in effect for Haliburton County on Monday, according to Environment Canada. Snowfall rates of 3 to 5 cm per hour were possible at times, with forecasts predicting local accumulations of 10 to 15 cm, the agency said. Credit: Brian Smith via Storyful
