The opening date for Leicestershire’s newest Aldi store has been revealed The store, in Ellistown, near Coalville, is part of the Swinfen Vale development in the newly-constructed Sence Valley Road.

The development is one half of the South East Coalville expansion project, with the other half being Hugglescote Grange. Together they will ultimately lead to 2,700 new homes in the area.

A new 400-place school, just off adjoining Beveridge Lane, is also being built in the area. Aldi is expected to be one of a number of stores set to open in Swinfen Vale.

The supermarket, which bosses said had created 30 jobs, will be opened by Olympic medallist Sam Oldham. Aldi is a long-term supporter of Team GB.

Aldi store manager Emily Parker-Raoof said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Coalville. It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Sam Oldham join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Gymnast Sam added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB.”

The store will open on Thursday, May 23, with the first customers set to come through the doors at 8am.
