Rangers are reportedly weighing up a move for Le Havre midfielder Oussama Targhalline - with the French Ligue 1 side desperate to keep a hold of their Moroccan midfield star.

Light Blues boss Philippe Clement has already bolstered his squad with five new signings this summer and more are expected to follow. According to L'Equipe, the Ibrox club are among a number of teams who are keen on 22-year-old Targhalline, who made 14 appearances in Ligue 1 last season to help his side avoid relegation. They add that the African is also interesting teams from France and Italy, and that Le Havre have offered him a new one-year deal with just 12 months remaining on his current contract.

Targhahlline, who was born just outside Casablanca, helped his club lift the Ligue 2 title in 2023 and has won eight caps at U23 level for Morocco. He part of the side that won the Africa Cup of Nations last year and also tasted success with his country at U17 and U20 level, winning the UNAF Tournament twice .

The midfielder started his career with Marseille, and made three first team appearances for the club and also spent time out on loan in Turkey with Alanyaspor in 2022. Rangers are already poised to bring in Targalline's international teammate Hamza Igamane, having agreed a £1.7million deal with FAR Rabat for the striker and he is expected to arrive in Govan imminently.

The Gers have also been linked with a move for fellow Morocco U23 international, Couhaib Driouech, who plies his trade with Excelsior in the Dutch second tier. With Clement looking to strengthen his attacking options, speculation around the future of Cyriel Dessers is only likely to ramp up, with the Nigerian forward the subject of interest from Greek outfit PAOK and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
