Outlander fans think they may have spotted a hint over Sam Heugan's next project.

The Outlander actor remains a favourite to take over from Daniel Craig as 007, and a recent Instagram post from Sam plays right into it.

Sam took to Instagram to share his martini recipe with his Wild Scottish Gin from his own brand Sassenach and fans were quick to put the two together.

As the Record writes, the clip shows Sam shaking up the iconic cocktail, the caption read: "You order a martini and he's serving, what do you say?"

Encouraging fans to reply with the iconic James Bond line: "Shaken not stirred."

One fan commented: "I would be very shaken and very stirred."

Another penned: "So very James Bond!"

While one added: "I'm feeling a little James Bond tonight!" While one penned: "Hello James Bond!"

It's unknown who will be the next James Bond but Sam has previously said that he’d like nothing more than to “see another Scottish Bond”.

Opening up on his dreams of following in the footsteps of Sean Connery, the actor who rose to fame with Outlander reflected in a recent interview of a previous audition he did for the epic movie franchise. He told Metro : “It’s a great character, and I’d certainly love to see another Scottish Bond.

"I auditioned for it many years ago. I’d love to have another opportunity. I’m not sure I fit in the suit right now. I would probably have to slim down a bit but yeah, I mean, who knows? It’s a great franchise for sure. I love it."

The betting market for the next James Bond seemingly changes week-by-week with Aaron Taylor-Johnson now favourite at 3/1 to play the famous role.

Reports this time last year suggested that Taylor-Johnson had recorded screen tests for the role of Bond and now he has a 25% chance of being Bond, according to OLBG.

Sam, 44, has seen his career skyrocket thanks to his role as Jamie Fraser in Outlander, the hunky Scots star of the hugely popular time-travel drama set and filmed in Scotland.
