Over Half a Million March in Paris May Day Protest, French Union Says

Over half a million people took to the streets of Paris on Monday, May, 1, according to French labor union General Confederation of Labor (CGT).

Footage posted to Facebook by CGT shows protesters on May Day, a day that celebrates labor rights around the world. According to the post, at least 550,000 people turned out to protest.

At least 111 people were arrested and at least 10 police officers were injured in the city, according to Le Parisien. Nationwide, at least 108 cops were injured, the news outlet said.
