Oxford City defender Andre Burley signs new deal

Oxford City defender Andre Burley has signed a new deal to stay at the club next season.

The St Kitts & Nevis international is preparing for his third season at Court Place Farm.

He will be looking to add to his 78 city appearances under new manager Sam Cox.

The 33-year-old manager moved to Court Place Farm after helping Wealdstone survive relegation against all the odds and maintain their National League presence on the final day of the campaign.

Burley is the latest city player to commit his future to the club ahead of the 2024/25 season after Jos Parker, Josh Ashby, Reece Fleet, Zac McEachran, Lewis Coyle and Alfie Potter all extended their stays.

He said: "I’m looking forward to the new season and I’m excited to work with the new gaffer and his team."

He added: "Hopefully I can help push us to success."

Burley joined city from Wycombe Wanderers and has been a significant part of the team for two seasons.

He helped the club win promotion from National League South in his first year.

However, the versatile defender also had his best spell in front of goal in the National League last season, scoring two goals from defence.
