Oxford City winger Alfie Potter extends his stay at the club

Oxford City winger Alfie Potter has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club for another season.

The 35-year-old has been with City since 2020, establishing himself as a key figure in the team.

He is the latest Oxford City player to commit his future to the club ahead of the 2024/25 season after Jos Parker, Josh Ashby, Reece Fleet, Zac McEachran and Lewis Coyle all extended their stays.

He said: "I’m very happy to have signed for another year at a fantastic club.

"I’m excited for the season ahead and believe that with the players we have retained from last season and the appointment of the new manager, we can have another successful season."

He made club history last season when he scored City's first ever goal in the fifth tier on the opening day of the campaign at Aldershot Town.

Another highlight from his spell at the club was his goal in the National League South Play-Off semi-final tie against Worthing.

Potter will now enter his fifth year with the Hoops having made 75 appearances for the club over the last four.

He is well-known to football fans in Oxford having scored at Wembley for Oxford United in the 2010 Conference Play-Off final.

The goal helped United to a 3-1 win over York City as the club secured promotion to the Football League.
