An Oxford restaurant is offering customers a taste of the Amalfi Coast this summer with its new menu.

Six by Nico is set to introduce a six-course tasting menu inspired by the Italian destination, available from July 1 to August 11 at its Westgate site which opened in May.

Alongside this, the restaurant is also offering a smaller, four-course lunch menu with the flavours of southern Italy from Mondays to Fridays, except for Tuesdays, between 12 and 4pm for £30 per person.

The menu "promises to take guests on a culinary journey to the sun-kissed shores of its menu namesake through contemporary spins on the traditional flavours of Southern Italy", the restaurant said.

Founder and chef Nico Simeone, and his team, have designed the six-course tasting menu which aims to encapsulate the location.

The set menu is designed to offer guests an accessible selection of the nation's favourites.

These include parmesan polenta, heirloom tomato, spaghetti Nero, black pollock, trio of pork and delizia al limone.

An entirely vegetarian alternative accompanies with dishes including gnocchi verdewhich which blends tapenade, zucchini, with braised fennel and basil dressing as a substitute to the black pollock.

Instead of the trio of pork, vegetarians can expect a smoked baby onion which mixes pumpkin and truffle risotto with pickled summer squash.

The full six-course tasting menu costs £50, with matching wine pairings at £38.
