OXFORD United will begin the 2024/25 campaign at home against Norwich City, in what will be United’s first game in the second tier of English football for 25 years.

The Canaries finished sixth in Sky Bet Championship last time out, and were beaten 4-0 on aggregate by Leeds United in the play-off semi-finals.

After that opening day fixture on August 10, which currently has a 12.30pm kick-off like the rest of the Championship, the U’s round off the month with trips to Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers, and a home clash with Preston North End.

Early season notable dates include the visit to Liam Manning’s Bristol City on September 21, which precedes back-to-back games against Burnley and Luton Town, both relegated from the Premier League.

United take on the Clarets at the Kassam Stadium on September 28, before a trip to Kenilworth Road on October 1.

The eagerly anticipated visit to Elland Road, to tackle Leeds United, has been scheduled for December 21.

Festive fixtures at home to Cardiff City (December 26) and Plymouth Argyle (December 29) follow, before a trip to Millwall on New Year’s Day.

The U’s welcome Leeds to Grenoble Road on Good Friday next year (April 18), and then visit Cardiff City on Easter Monday (April 21).

United then round off the season with a home game against Sunderland on April 26, before a final day meeting at Swansea City on May 3.
