Steph McGovern has had to have her ring removed by firefighters after trapping her finger in a door, causing it to become severely swollen.
The host of Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch had to enlist the help of firefighter staff to have the ring cut off at Harrogate Fire Station in North Yorkshire.
The presenter took to Twitter to share photos of the injury, alongside the caption: "Eventful morning…..started with trip to @FireHarrogate to get a ring cut off swollen finger I'd trapped in door……thanks so much to Matt @TurnerTurner11, Lisa @Arcticwolf31, Dave + James for sorting it out! Straight after had to take my daughter for first ever day at nursery."
According to OK! the BBC journalist also tried ice and a ribbon to get her ring off, but required it to be cut at the fire station.
Recently, Steph's Packed Lunch was among ITV's The Chase and This Morning to be shortlisted for the TRIC Awards 2021, which recognises television content that keeps viewers company throughout the day with "conversations, cooking & quizzes".
The host of the show took to Twitter to celebrate the announcement.
McGovern will mark her return to breakfast television from August 25 part of Channel 4's coverage for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
Sharing the news with her followers in July, she tweeted: "Eeee this is exciting. Am buzzing to be part of the team bringing you the #Paralympics for @Channel4."
Meanwhile, last year McGovern revealed she turned down a spot on Strictly Come Dancing due to the launch of her Channel 4 series.
Steph's Packed Lunch airs weekdays at 12.30pm on Channel 4.
