The Don't Look Down gang is down two teammates as Paddy McGuinness and Beverley Callard have had to leave the show.

A lineup of celebrities is currently training at a camp in Austria to attempt a world-first high-wire walk 100ft over the London Stadium to benefit Stand Up To Cancer. In last night's (October 24) episode, Beverley revealed she had to return to the UK due to medical reasons.

"I'm going to try not to cry… At some point I damaged my kidney and I've seen a doctor and I can't wear a harness, I can't do any sport at the moment and I've got to go," she told her teammates.

"I am brokenhearted, I was loving it. I don't want to go, I so badly don't want to go," she added.

The Coronation Street star's exit was met with words of love and encouragement from her co-stars.

"You're so brave, you just get up there and do it," Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton told her. "If you were healthy, you would have 100% achieved this. There's no doubt in my mind because you're so brave."

"It feels really weird to lose two teammates already," Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt said. "Beverley's been the biggest role model for us girls in the group. She's 66 and she's still made of nails with the best positive attitude, she really gives it all she's got. To think we have to move on without her, it's really hard."

Former footballer Anton Ferdinand likened Beverley to a mother figure in the camp, saying: "Beverley leaving for me is one of the worst things that could happen. She made me feel warm, she made me feel like a mother does and losing my mum to cancer is the reason why I'm here."

As for Paddy, the host and team leader revealed he'll need to make a swift return to the UK to take care of the three children he shares with his ex-wife Christine, but will be back in the air soon.

"Unfortunately, today I've got to go home and I might not be back for at least a week. Co-parenting… We've no one at all to help us with the kids," he said.

"With our children, they need me or Christine there or people who are in our support network. I'll have a hell of a lot of catching up to do when I get back.

"I'm gutted because the guys will be 10 metres up in the air and it will feel like starting again but there's just nothing I can do about it."

It seems Paddy is so dedicated to the cause he's had a training wire set up installed in his garden so he'll have a chance to continue practising his high-wire technique.

Don't Look Down for SU2C airs on Channel 4.
