Paddy McGuinness-fronted shows I Can See Your Voice and Catchpoint 'not expected to return'

'I Can See Your Voice' and 'Catchpoint' are not expected to return this year.

The two Saturday night BBC shows were both presented by Paddy McGuinness, and the star is expected to be on the lookout for some new projects.

A TV insider told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "This will come as a real blow to Paddy, who’s made a firm commitment to the Beeb since he quit ITV four years ago.

"Both 'I Can See Your Voice' and 'Catchpoint' saw him retain his place as a star of Saturday night TV, something he forged fronting dating favourite 'Take Me Out' on ITV.

"But these axings mean that’s effectively gone, so he’s likely to be looking for new projects to fill the void.

"He remains hugely popular with viewers, who see him as a relatable and funny bloke they want to welcome into their living rooms. He is likely to bounce back in some way."

Mystery music game show 'I Can See Your Voice' aired for two series and a 'Children in Need' charity special.

It saw a guest artist and two contestants attempt to try to eliminate the bad singers from a group of six "mystery singers" - without hearing them sing.

Alison Hammond, Jimmy Carr, and Amanda Holden sat on the judging panel.

'Catchpoint' saw two teams going head to head as they attempted to catch big balls to win cash prizes.

Paddy also co-hosts 'Top Gear' alongside Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris, but the programme is currently on hold.

The BBC stopped production on the motoring show last month after presenter Freddie was seriously injured in a car crash during filming.

In June, Paddy admitted he was convinced 'Top Gear' will continue for the foreseeable future and will "always change hosts".

He said at the time: "It's our show now and we're all in it, you know, and who knows further down the line it'll stop here or carry on going ... it'll always change hosts."
