Paolo Nutini announces gig in his hometown in August as fans go wild at news

Paolo Nutini will play a gig at his hometown in August it has been announced.

The Candy singer took to social media to tell fans that he will be playing a gig in his hometown of Paisley but has yet to reveal the date and venue.

Posting on Instagram, the star shared a video that read: "Paisley August'24, details soon."

And fans couldn't contain their excitement at the thought of him performing in Paisley.

One wrote: "I will sell a kidney to go to this."

Another added: "Best news ever! See you there for sure!"

While one commented: "OMG YES! Been waiting on this!"

And one wrote: "Ahhh!! Too excited for this!"

This isn't the first time the Scots singer has sprung a surprise gig on his fans as last year by announcing his only Scottish show at the Royal Highland Showground.

He made a comeback to the music scene after an 8 year hiatus in 2022. He released his fourth album Last Night In The Bittersweet as part of his comeback.

Last year, the hitmaker's album, These Streets, has been announced as the winner of Scottish Album of the Year (SAY )’s Modern Scottish Classic Award. The annual modern Scottish classic gong, in association with YouTube Music, recognises an album from Scotland’s past that is considered timeless and still inspiring today.

The album, which catapulted the then 19-year-old singer to stardom and featured hits including New Shoes and Last Request, was selected as the winner by the 20 artists originally long-listed for the SAY award.
