In turn, Javier Esteban replaces Ezpeleta as International Director of The Mediapro Studio. Both execs have been with Mediapro since 2019.
“Marta’s professionalism, vision and dedication have been instrumental in the Mediapro Studio’s growth and international expansion,” said Fernandez Espeso. “I have worked side by side with Marta since she joined Mediapro, and I am thoroughly convinced she will do an excellent job at the helm of the studio as a key part of the very talented team within the group, highly respected and supported by everyone.”
Prior to Mediapro, Ezpeleta was a Disney vet. She joined the content and programing team in 1998 and spent 20 years launching Disney TV channels in Spain and Portugal and then became General Manager of Distribution for the Iberian peninsula. She joined Mediapro five years ago, with credits since including Paraíso, Express and The Good Boss.
Esteban also used to work for Disney and moved to Mediapro the same year that Ezpeleta did.
Fernandez Espeso said “his strategic and global vision, his capacity for adapting to change and his results-focused approach, make Javier the ideal candidate to oversee the Studio’s international area.”
Earlier this year, Espeso was unveiled as the next GM of Spain’s Mediapro upon the departure of Juan Ruiz de Gauna.
