Paris Hilton admitted she didn’t know what a spatula was as she made lasagne in a new online cooking tutorial.
The 38-year-old socialite and former reality TV star made the confession in Cooking with Paris as she searched for cooking utensils for her pasta dish.
Hilton said: “Sorry I’m doing a cooking tutorial and I have none of the correct utensils...”
Brandishing a spatula she said: “I have no idea what this is but it looks like it will work.”
Hilton opened the video by saying: “I’m an amazing cook. Ever since I was a little girl I would always go with my mum in the kitchen and she would cook these amazing pastas and lasagnes. My entire life I just remember sitting on the counter and watching my mum cook.”
Searching drawers for a cheese grater she said: “I would definitely recommend getting shredded mozzarella because now I have to grate the cheese. This my first time cooking here so I have no idea if I even have one.”
The Simple Life star then proceeded to grate the cheese while wearing fingerless driving gloves. She also did not know what ricotta cheese looked like after opening the packet and being confused by what was inside.
Hilton was joined by her pet Chihuahua Diamond Baby for the tutorial, wearing a Chanel apron.
After throwing salt on to meat in a pan and spilling it all over the counter top she exclaimed: “Oh no! That’s definitely too much!”
Hilton then attempted to remove the salt by dabbing the meat in the pan with kitchen towel coated in bottled water declaring: “You have no idea what is in these sewers.”
The heir to the Hilton Hotel chain proceeded to add seasoning from the cupboard, declaring “I have no idea of the correct amount” and advising viewers to add any spices they find in their kitchen.
Looking at a pile of onions she sighed: “I was supposed to chop all these onions and garlic... but I feel like my lasagne should not have onions and garlic in it.”
Hilton baked the lasagne in a foil tray, covered in tin foil “wrapped like a present”.
She promised fans she will be cooking more and invited them to suggest her next dish on social media.
Hilton rose to fame in Fox reality series The Simple Life which began in 2003 and saw her and her then best friend Nicole Richie living with a family in rural America and trying low paid jobs such as cleaning, farm work and serving fast food.
Kim Kardashian appeared in the show as Hilton’s stylist and friend before eclipsing her in fame with her own show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
