Partially submerged car on Anglesey beach sparked police and coastguard response

A partially submerged vehicle on the coast off Anglesey sparked a police and coastguard response. The vehicle was seen at Gallows Point in Beaumaris on Saturday morning.

Staff at ABC Powermarine became concerned and raised the alarm. Penmon Coastguard Team attended the scene and started an immediate search of the local area. North Wales Police were also involved and started gathering information to track down the owner.

Penmon Coastguard said: "We received a call out on May 11 at 11.43am. Tasked by MRCC Holyhead to concerns from staff at ABC Powermarine of a partially submerged vehicle Gallows Point.

"We investigated the vehicle and with potentially a missing person or person in the water we carried out an immediate search of the area while ourselves and NWP (North Wales Police) gathered more information and contacted the owner, Read more: When and where thunder and rain will replace sunshine in North Wales today

"Owner was aware of the problem and was dealing with the situation but hadn’t thought of informing the authorities. A good outcome from what could have been potentially a major search."
