The parts of the A180 that will close for repairs throughout May

Part of the A180 is set to be subject to a series of closures for repairs from today (Tuesday, May 7).

Until Friday, May 24, workers from National Highways will be carrying out emergency concrete repairs on the east and westbound carriageways of the A180, between junction 5 with the M180 and the Stallingborough junction.

A "number of closures" will be in place overnight during the week, with weekend closures also planned though timings have not yet been confirmed.

Diversions will be in place and motorists are asked to allow extra time for their journeys.

From Friday, May 10, workers will also be carrying out work to replace the bridge joints and the resurfacing of the slip roads at the Stallingborough junction roundabout.

Sections of the junction will be closed each night until Friday, May 31.

A spokesperson for National Highways said: "We need to carry out emergency concrete repairs on the east and westbound carriageways of the A180 between junction 5 with the M180 and the Stallingborough junction.

"To do this safely we will be using a number of overnight, 8pm- 6am, and weekend closures Friday 8pm - Monday 6am closures, from Tuesday 7 May until Friday 24 May. Signed diversions will be in place and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

"We are carrying out the replacement of the bridge joints and resurfacing the slip roads at the Stallingborough junction roundabout. The Stallingborough bridge carries the A1173 over the A180.

"To do this safely we will be closing sections of the junction overnight from Friday 10 May until Friday 31 May. Signed diversions will be in place, please allow extra time for your journey."
