Get the party rings! A very special birthday for Edinburgh zoo lemur Pop Pop

Edinburgh Zoo's endangered ring-tailed lemur troop celebrated their birthdays with a special cake this week.

It was a particularly special day for the eldest of the group, Pop Pop, who is turning 20! Born in February and March, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland's (RZSS) lemur group, also known as a 'conspiracy' of lemurs, were treated to a sweet potato, leaf pellet, and yoghurt cake, with carrot 'candles'.

Besides Pop Pop, Kitata (born 6 Feb 2009) has just turned 15, Jingoma (born 12 Mar 2008) is set to turn 16, and Tipiaka (born 15 Feb 2008), who has just turned 16 himself.

Visitors to the zoo can spot Pop Pop, Kitata, Jingoma and Tipiaka in the indoor and outdoor viewing areas of their enclosure.
