Pampered pooches on Teesside are in for a pawesome time as Middlesbrough nightclub opens doors to four-legged furry friends.

Flares and Popworld in the town - known for its cheesy 90s music - will be welcoming dog owners to party with their pets when it holds its first ever doggy disco next month. The Pawesome Parties Doggy Disco has sessions for Cockapoos, Dachshunds and all pups which means all friendly socialised dogs are welcome to grab their tickets and head along for some fun.

Organisers say the 'first of its kind' family friendly event will have lots of stuff to get the dogs and humans entertained, including a full drinks menu, puppuccinos and competitions. There will be dog sofas, ball pits, glow sticks and much more providing a space for pups to run around and meet new friends.

Leanne Ferguson, event manager of Pawesome Parties, holds dog parties for all breeds across the country having originally thought of the idea to socialise her cockapoo Alfie. She said: "The sessions lasts 75 minutes which is like an intense walk for them. It is a big sensory experience for them socialising with other like-minded dogs and people."

Boutique stalls from local businesses will also be set up on the day. It is due to take place on 13th July with different ticketed time slots per dog breed. Cockapoo Disco will be held at the Albert Road venue on Saturday, July 13 from 11am to 12pm. This event is open to all poodle cross breeds of dog.

One the same day between 12.30pm and 1.30pm will be the Dachshund Party and then between 2pm and 3pm the dancefloor will open up to every breed in the All Pups Disco.

At each of the events will be 60 minutes of off lead play time, unlimited puppuccino and treats for the dogs, ball pit, bubble machine and other cute surprises. There will also be doggy prizes for the best dressed, kisser and cutest pooches.

There are few doggy rules which include, only friendly and socialised dogs allowed to attend, dogs must be watched at all times, no dogs in season allowed and put dog poo in the bin. Tickets can be purchased from www.pawesomeparties.co.uk/middlesbrough
