Passenger dies on Glasgow bus after taking unwell in medical emergency

A person has died in a medical emergency on board a Glasgow bus on Tuesday (July 9) morning.

Police and paramedics rushed to Gorbals Street, in the Gorbals, at around 8am after a passenger on a First service took unwell. Sadly, the person died.

The street had been taped off with a cordon erected around the bus which remained stationary.

A First Bus spokesperson said: "We can confirm a passenger sadly passed away after taking unwell on one of our services this morning on Gorbals Street at around 8am.

"Emergency services were called immediately and were in attendance.

Police Scotland confirmed that they were called following reports of a medical incident.
