Paul Chuckle was forced to correct an announcement that his late brother Barry Chuckle has been cast in a forthcoming pantomime.

In fact, it is Paul Chuckle who is appearing in Cinderella in Woking this Christmas.

Pantomime news site It’s Behind You tweeted: “Cinderella at Woking has a Panto legend joining the cast – Barry Chuckle as Baron! #panto @PaulChuckle2 @ QdosPantomimes.”

Paul Chuckle simply replied ‘Paul’ to the tweet (which has now been deleted).

Twitter reacted accordingly…

Barry Chuckle died at the age of 73 last month, following a battle with bone cancer.

Paul recently revealed that his brother had kept his diagnosis from him because he wanted to continue working.

“He had pains in his legs for about two years and he kept telling me it was sciatica,” said Paul.

“He kept it from me and our manager Phil because we would have said no [to him performing].

“He wanted to work until he died. He wanted to die on stage like Tommy Cooper. He just loved working and making people laugh. He was a lovely guy.”

Paul Chuckle will appear as Baron Hardup in the production of Cinderella, opposite Craig Revel Horwood’s Wicked Stepmother.
