Paul McKenna: ‘I Chose My Wife Via Excel Spreadsheet’

We didn’t necessarily have British hypnotist Paul McKenna down as the most romantic of folk, but we definitely didn’t think he’d be the sort to create a spreadsheet in a bid to work out who he should marry.

No, really, that’s what he actually did.

And they say that romance is dead.

The 52-year-old, who is worth an estimated £40million, admitted in a new interview that he didn’t realise that Kate Davey was the love of his life until he compared her to other prospects on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

Speaking to The Guardian, Paul revealed: “I’ve dated a lot of beautiful women. A friend pointed out I didn’t actually like them, and advised me to make an Excel spreadsheet to find out who I really loved.

“It came down to Kate [Davey, his long-time PA]. We’d worked together for many years; thankfully she felt the same way and now we’re engaged.

“I feel I’ve learned more with her in the last three years than the rest of my life.”

The self-help guru had previously shared that the realisation that he loved Kate came to him all at once, saying: “I suddenly went: ‘Good God! I love Kate!’ I mean, I am nuts about her.”

He obviously just needed a little helping hand to figure it all out.
