2024 has already seen us say farewell to some famous faces from the world of entertainment and beyond. Here, we pay tribute to stars and celebrities of TV, film and beyond, along with the words of their friends, colleagues and loved ones – gone but never forgotten.

José de la Torre, who played Iván in Netflix's Spanish-language drama Toy Boy has died aged 37.

Timothy West – actor known for his roles in EastEnders and Coronation Street – died November 12, aged 90.

"After a long and extraordinary life on and off the stage, our darling father Timothy West died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening. He was 90 years old. Tim was with friends and family at the end. He leaves his wife Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. All of us will miss him terribly. Tony Todd – actor who appeared in Final Destination and Candyman – died November 6, aged 69

Kris Kristofferson - country artist and actor - died September 28, aged 88

Dame Maggie Smith – actor known her roles in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter – died September 27, aged 89

Dave Myers - Hairy Bikers star - died February 28, aged 66

"Hi everyone, I'm afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years.

"Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home. All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.
