Three teenagers have been charged with murder over the death of PC Andrew Harper, who was dragged to his death by a vehicle while trying to stop a burglary.

The 28-year-old had been married for just four weeks when he was killed on August 15 near the village of Sulhamstead in Berkshire.

PC Harper was dragged under a vehicle then hit by another, and died of multiple injuries.

Jed Foster, 20, was previously charged with murder and the theft of a quad bike from the home of Peter Wallis in Bradfield Southend on August 15.  He is due to appear at Reading Crown Court on November 20.

Police have now charged Henry Long, 18, from Reading, and two 17-year-old boys, who cannot be named due to their age, with murder and conspiracy to steal a quad bike.

Thomas King, 21, from Basingstoke, has also been charged with conspiracy to steal a quad bike.

The four new suspects are due to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.
