Pedestrian hit by van leading to closure of town centre roads

A pedestrian has been hit by a van in Leicestershire, leading to the closure of roads this afternoon (Monday May 20). Leicestershire Police said the incident, reported at 3.18pm, led to it cordoning off Moat Street, Long Street and Horsewell Lane in Wigston.

The exact location of where the collision happened has not been revealed at the time of writing. No further information has been given by the force at this stage as the incident is still ongoing.

The injuries of the people involved in the collision are not known. Congestion has built up in the centre of the town as police cordoned off multiple roads following the incident.
