Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart recreate engagement party photo 19 years on

Penny Lancaster has taken to social media to share a sweet throwback of her and husband Rod Stewart on the day of their engagement party, which they celebrated over 19 years ago.

Sir Rod Stewart proposed to his model girlfriend in 2005 in style, by getting down on one knee at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The pair celebrated their plans for getting hitched by throwing an engagement party at the Savoy hotel in London.

The swanky five-star hotel saw the couple pose at the time on the stairwell, with Penny sporting a glamorous baby pink dress, paired with some gorgeous feather shoes and her hair styled in a classy up-do. Rod looked dapper in a navy blue suit, as they both beamed at the camera.

Marking 19 years and three months since their engagement, Penny took to Instagram to share an adorable re-creation of the same photo.

The Maggie May rocker posed with his arm around his wife wearing a lighter pinstriped baby blue and white suit, paired with white converse, whilst Penny looked elegant in a sheer white lace number matched with gorgeous golden heels.

The couple tied the knot in 2007 two years after their engagement in Portofino, Italy in front of 100 family and friends on the grounds of a medieval monastery.

"I was stunned, threw my arms around him, and burst into tears," Penny told the Evening Standard recalling the day the hit singing sensation popped the question, with a gorgeous diamond ring fit for a princess which Hello! reports is "valued at approximately £85,000."

Elsewhere, Rod Stewart alongside wife Penny and their clan recently jetted across to Dubrovnik, Croatia for his son Liam Stewart and long-term partner Nicole Artukovich's lavish family wedding.

The 79-year-old Maggie May rocker was in high spirits as he joined all eight of his children to witness Liam, 29, marry Nicole at St. Ignatius Church last month.

Accompanied by his wife Penny Lancaster, who dazzled in a lilac satin dress featuring a bold thigh-high split, the wedding was a joyous occasion.

The entire Stewart clan, including Sarah, Kimberly, Ruby, Renee, Sean, Alastair, and Aiden, were seen enjoying the nuptials as they toasted to Liam and Nicole's union in what was described as a heartfelt and merry celebration.
