Pensioner Reunited With Car After Forgetting Where He Parked It Two Months Ago

A granddad who forgot where he parked his car has finally been reunited with it – after two months of searching.

Retired mechanic Malcolm Baker, 76, went shopping during the summer, but then couldn’t remember where he had left his Ford Focus.

His family spent eight weeks searching for his silver motor, but had just about given up all chance of finding it when it turned up.

His son, Richard, 49, said: “A guy from Tesco gave me a ring and said that he [thought] my dad’s car was in his car park.

"I went to have a look and there it was – it was incredible. I’m so grateful to the guy for finding it.

"What’s even nicer is that the car park only offers two hours’ free parking. I dread to think what the fine would have been, but Tesco have said they will waive the fee.”

Malcolm, who is suffering from the early stages of dementia, lost the car on August 8.

Tesco produce manager Robert Carter, who found the car, liaised with staff to ensure no tickets were issued to the family.

Richard added: “My brother has got the car at the moment, because his is on its last legs.

"Dad can’t drive any more. The car wasn’t worth thousands, we just wanted to get it back for the sake of his peace of mind."

Tesco have been approached for a comment.
