People's Vote march: Route and times as more than 100,000 people prepare to attend biggest Brexit protest yet

More than 100,000 protesters are set to march on Parliament on Saturday to demand a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal.

The march through central London is likely to the biggest public protest so far against the current Brexit situation, as support grows for another referendum.

Chef Delia Smith and Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden are set to be among the stars taking part in the protest. While London mayor Sadiq Khan has also given it his backing.

Twice as many coaches have been booked as for the march against Brexit in June, which saw 100,000 people attend.

When and where is the march taking place?

Protesters will begin assembling from midday on Saturday (October 20) on Park Lane in central London. The meeting point is just north of the Hilton Hotel.

They will then march to Parliament Square where speakers will deliver addresses in support of a People’s Vote from 2pm onwards.

What is the route of the march?

The march will begin by travelling down Park Lane along the eastern edge of Hyde Park. Protesters will then turn left and walk along Piccadilly and onto Trafalgar Square via St James Street and Pall Mall.

Finally, the march will proceed down Whitehall, past Downing Street, and end in Parliament Square.

Who is organising it?

The People’s Vote is a grassroots campaign with support from across the political spectrum. It has more than a million social media followers and is growing every day.

Who is speaking at the march?

Delia Smith and Deborah Meaden will be leading the march, but there will also be cross-party support including from Sadiq Khan.

Other supporters include Labour MP Chuka Umunna, Tory MPs Sarah Wollaston and Anna Soubry, Lib Dem leader Sir Vince Cable and Green Party MP Caroline Lucas.

Celebrities backing the People's Vote cause include Lena Headey, Bob Geldof, Michael Morpurgo, Tim Minchin and Dominc West.

Jamie Carragher, Patrick Stewart and Armando Iannucci have also helped to sponsor coaches for the event.
