Two buyers on A Place in the Sun refused a "perfect" home on Monday due to a "deal breaker".

Property expert Jean Johansson was in Costa Blanca, Spain, to help former midwife Sally and brewery worker Phil find their perfect forever home. The married couple had sold their house in Wales and were looking for somewhere big enough to permanently relocate.

They also wanted plenty of space for family to come and visit, and they didn't want to be "overlooked" by neighbours.

Jean lined up five potential homes within their budget of £220,000, and things got off to a great start, as Sally and Phil hailed the first two properties contenders. Things carried on in the same vein, until it was time to view the fifth and final home.

On the market for just over £215,000 at the time of filming, the three-bedroom house was situated next to a beautiful nature reserve and surrounded by lush trees. It had plenty of outdoor space with a barbecue and a swimming pool, and Phil said it would have been "perfect", but there was just one problem.

The house was located on top of a hill, and Phil said he didn't fancy walking up and down it every time he wanted to go out or return home. Because of this "deal breaker", the home was immediately taken out of the running.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4 and All 4
