Person dies in A38 horror crash

A person died in a two-vehicle crash in the West Country this afternoon (April 28). The collision took place on the A38 Glynn Valley in Cornwall at around 12.30pm.

Devon and Cornwall Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash between Bodmin Parkway Train Station and The Halfway House. Meanwhile, another person was rushed to Derriford Hospital in a critical condition and three others were taken to Treliske Hospital for treatment to their injuries.

The A38 was shut in both directions following the collision. Investigating police officers are now keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage of the crash.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Officers from Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the incident and carried out a detailed investigation of the scene."

They added: "Anyone with any relevant information or dashcam footage which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police via our website or by calling 101 quoting reference log 293 of 28th April 2024."
