Person Dug Out From Rubble After Deadly Russian Attack on Chernihiv

A person was seen being dug out of rubble after a deadly missile strike hit the city of Chernihiv on Wednesday, April 17, footage released by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) showed.

At least 11 people were confirmed to have been killed and 22 injured, Ukraine’s Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko said. Three people were reported missing.

In the footage, two SES members can be seen slowly digging an injured person out of the rubble of a damaged building.

Klymenko said people were still be under the rubble with a search and rescue operation ongoing.

Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv government, said the city was targeted by three rocket attacks near the city center.
