Person injured after kitchen fire breaks out in Bristol

A fire broke out in the kitchen of a flat in Bristol this morning (Monday, June 24). Avon Fire and Rescue Service were called to Maze Street, in St Philips, shortly after 6am.

Fire crews from Temple, Hicks Gate and Bedminster rushed to the scene alongside paramedics. Pictures show fire damage to the building with emergency services in attendance.

The fire service has confirmed that the cause of the fire was accidental. One person was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called just after 6am to reports of a fire on Maze Street, St Philips. Crews from Temple, Hicks Gate and Bedminster attended and found a fire in the kitchen of a ground floor residential flat.

"Firefighters extinguished the blaze and determined the cause as accidental. One person was treated by ambulance at the scene."
