A person has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an incident at an industrial estate in Plymouth today, Monday, May 20. Police were alerted to reports of a concern for the welfare of a person at Beechwood Way industrial estate in Plympton around 11.30am this morning.

The ambulance service was also called to the scene at poultry factory Dartmouth Foods where a person had suffered injuries. The casualty was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not currently thought to be life-threatening, according to emergency services.

The nature of the incident is not known at this time. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has said: “Police were called to an industrial premises in Beechwood Way, Plympton at around 11.30am on Monday 20 May following a concern for welfare for a person.

"The ambulance was also called and the injured party taken to hospital. Their injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening. The Health and Safety Executive have been informed.”
