Personal trainer shares 'biggest tip for cheese' to help with weight loss

Embarking on a new weight loss journey? It's crucial to ensure it's sustainable.

Learning to enjoy your favourite foods in the right quantities can help you stick to your plan longer. But understanding portion control can be tricky, especially when we've been conditioned to believe certain foods are too "fattening" for a diet.

Take cheese, for instance. Despite its reputation, dairy is actually a vital part of a balanced diet. Cheese is packed with calcium and protein, which are essential for strong bones and muscles.

It also boasts high levels of vitamins A and B12, along with zinc, phosphorus, riboflavin and essential fatty acids. However, portion control is key, which is why fitness expert Lauren Scully has shared her top tip online.

The personal trainer, known as @leanwithlaurenx on social media, admits she steers clear of grated cheese due to portioning difficulties. Instead, she suggests opting for pre-sliced cheese.

In a video, which garnered over 4,000 likes, she explained: "Right, guys, here is my biggest tip for cheese. You could buy this [grated] one, which is 50% less fat or you could buy this [sliced] one which is less fat.

"But which one is better for fat loss? Well, which one is easier? This one is because this one is already portioned out in slices, whereas this one, you could easily rack up the calories by putting way more on."

In the caption, Lauren added: "Whats the best cheese for fat loss? There is no best cheese for fat loss, just follow a calorie deficit!

"However, you can make your life easier by buying slices of cheese instead of grated cheese then you don't have to guess the amount or weigh it out."

TikTok users were left gobsmacked by the clip as they flooded the comments section to praise her for the advice. One user said: "Your videos are so helpful! Thanks for sharing them."

Another chimed in: "Never miss a beat your videos are unreal and so helpful," while a third commented: "Love your video hunni x."

However, not everyone was on board with her advice as some argued that people could simply weigh their food out. A viewer countered: "Biggest tip for cheese?! You can easily weigh the grated cheese for portion control. I don't want sliced cheese on some food types. Each has a use."

A second critic wrote: "You can still have the grated cheese just weigh it on a scales and calculate the cals from the grams of cheese you use."
