Peta Hiku and Tom Opacic disciplinary verdicts delivered after Hull KR defeat

Three Wigan Warriors players have been charged following their Challenge Cup victory, with two of them being suspended. Kaide Ellis and Sam Walters have both received bans for their involvement in their semi-final victory over Hull KR on Saturday.

Ellis has been cited for dangerous contact after a late tackle while Walters, who was making his competitive debut for the Warriors, has been charged for head contact. Both offences have been graded 'B', with the players receiving the higher end of the sanctioning grade, meaning they've been banned.

Luke Thompson was also charged for Grade B dangerous contact, however, his disciplinary record has seen him hit the lower end of the scale and a £250 fine, but no suspensions.

Neither Tom Opacic nor Peta Hiku have been charged for incidents in the game. Opacic was sin-binned for 'causing a melee' after striking Adam Keighran while Hiku angered the Wigan players after a tackle on Jai Field, who was already on the floor. Both incidents were viewed by the Match Review Panel but it was determined that no further action was required. Opacic hasn't been sanctioned as he didn't throw a punch while it was adjudged that Hiku didn't make contact with the head of Field.

They are the only charges across Super League this week, with no incidents worthy of a charge in the other Challenge Cup semi-final between Warrington Wolves and Huddersfield Giants. Jake Connor saw two incidents viewed, one that saw a Warrington player go over the advertising hoardings and another when he retaliated and was sin-binned. Neither have seen further punishment head his way, though.
