Yahoo News Pete Wicks says Megan McKenna romance was "unhealthy"
Pete Wicks has labelled his romance with fellow TOWIE star Megan McKenna an "unhealthy relationship", in an attempt to clear up the truth behind their split.
The couple - who dated for almost a year - were thought to have called it quits earlier this month after weeks of rumours that their relationship had come to an end.
Last week, Megan revealed the couple had in fact been "separated for a while" following a Twitter rant at the TRIC Awards. However, this conflicts with Chloe Sims' version of events.
The Star magazine columnist implied the couple were indeed together at this time, as well as speculating that their split had come "out of the blue" as both seemed "really happy".
Now, Pete has taken to Twitter to air his side of the story on what may be the longest split in reality TV history.
Just to clarify, Megan and I split because it was an unhealthy relationship. We hadn't been happy for a while and both agreed. #EnoughSaid

"Just to clarify, Megan and I split because it was an unhealthy relationship," said Pete.
"We hadn't been happy for a while and both agreed."
The reality star then added: "#EnoughSaid."
Megan and Pete started dating when the former Ex on the Beach star first joined TOWIE as a series regular.
However, it's fair to say their relationship was not without its fair share of drama.
It was thought the couple would split after Pete was caught sexting another woman and piping Megan as "boring", although Megan later decided to take him back.
Nonetheless, the couple's relationship suffered from there, with many of their co-stars discouraging the continuation of the romance.
TOWIE continues tomorrow night (March 22) on ITVBe.
