Peter Andre never calls newborn by her name and has cute nickname instead

Weeks of indecision led to Arabella Rose's name, but her father Peter Andre rarely uses it and has a sweet nickname he uses with her. The 51-year-old Mysterious Girl singer and I'm A Celebrity star sought the guidance of fans while he and his wife Emily struggled to settle on a name for their little one, as time started to run out to choose.

Several names including Charlotte, Olivia and Athena were suggested by Peter, who eventually deferred to his partner's final decision. Despite all the haggling over names, the star, waiting for inspiration, endearingly started referring to his newborn as 'Bubba', a nickname that seems to have stuck.

In his column for OK! Magazine this Monday, May 20, Peter revealed he continues to use the tot's pet name 'Bubba', rather than her given birth name. He began by writing: "Arabella is now seven weeks old where has the time gone? I still haven't called Arabella by her name. I absolutely love it and she really suits it but I still call her 'bubba'," reports the Mirror.

Peter also offered an insight into his parenting journey stating that Emily is experiencing lack of sleep due to her motherly responsibilities, although he tries to share the burden as much as possible.

"As for sleeping, night and day are blurring into one at the moment. Ems is definitely getting less sleep than me because of the breast-feeding but we try to split the nights as much as possible. Emily and I are hoping for a little date night soon but our focus is just on the kids at the moment.

"With all five of them living in the house they all have different demands. It's busy, but I wouldn't change it for the world."

Peter also shared his thoughts on new father Ant McPartlin, who he first met during his time in the I'm A Celebrity jungle. The TV star recently celebrated the arrival of his son with wife Anne-Marie Corbett, prompting Peter to extend his congratulations: "I hear congratulations are in order for Ant McPartlin and his wife Anne-Marie who recently welcomed a baby boy, Wilder - cool name", said Peter.

"Welcome to the dad club, it's a beautiful thing. His best pal Dec also had a baby boy two years ago... Maybe they'll set them up as the next generation of Ant and Dec?"

The proud dad also revealed the name of his own daughter, Arabella, a month after her birth, sharing on social media: "It's taken a while but after lots of deliberation we've finally decided. Arabella Rose Andrea."
