Peter Andre reveals the way he'd allow daughter Princess to appear on 'Love Island'

Peter Andre has been clear that he doesn't want his daughter Princess to take part in Love Island, but he's keen for her to step into the hosting role one day.

In an Instagram post wishing his daughter a happy birthday when she turned 15 in June, Andre wrote "NO you can't go on Love Island".

The Mysterious Girl singer expanded on this in a recent chat with Metro, suggesting that the topic of Love Island comes up open among him and his kids.

Andre said: "I always say I’d love her to present the show. It’s a great show to watch – just not sure I’d want my daughter on it, that’s all."

Speaking at the Butterfly Ball held by charity Caudwell Children, Andre added that he enjoys teasing Princess about her Love Island ambitions.

He said: "I give her grief about it all the time. I tell her: 'you know it’s gonna be axed in a couple of years, you won’t be able to go on it in a couple of years'."

Andre, though, seems willing for Princess to step into the shoes of current Love Island host Laura Whitmore, who took over the hosting job from the late Caroline Flack.

It's now a family affair on Love Island as Whitmore's husband, comedian Iain Stirling, has been the show's narrator since its current incarnation launched in 2015.

Princess's fascination with Love Island comes as numerous celebrity offspring have entered the villa in Mallorca this year, with Gemma Owen — daughter of football legend Michael — currently one of the favourites to win the show.

Meanwhile, Ronan Keating's son Jack appeared as one of the new additions during this week's Casa Amor storyline, only to be booted from the show after failing to couple up with any of the original girls.

Michael Owen has been watching his daughter Gemma's time on the show, but said the reality dating series is "not something any father wants to watch".

He added: "If there is physical contact I think I’ll be throwing something at the screen. I don’t want to see kissing. Do not make me see kissing."

Things only got worse for Michael, though, with the former England striker tweeting an emoji of his hands covering his eyes during the infamous heart rate challenge.

That episode sees the contestants dance for each other wearing sexy outfits, hoping to raise the heart rates of their fellow islanders.

This week, meanwhile, featured the fallout from the Casa Amor recoupling, with numerous couples splitting and explosive rows as the contestants' antics while separated from their partners were revealed.

Gemma Owen and her partner Luca Bish were one of the few pre-Casa Amor couples to remain together.
