Peter Andre reveals 'number one' favourite name for new-born daughter - but there's an issue

Peter Andre has revealed his top pick for his new-born daughter's name, however, there appears to be a snag with Emily, his wife, yet to approve it. The couple welcomed their third child (and the star's fifth) early in April 2024, with only a few weeks left to formally register the baby's name.

As the deadline fast approaches, Peter has sought assistance from his followers to decide on an appropriate moniker, after putting together an endearing nickname for her.

In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, April 24, the Mysterious Girl hitmaker shared the names that have caught his eye and unveiled his "number one choice" to his followers in the comments section. However, his spouse Emily hasn't given the names her blessing so far.

It all began when a fan put forth the suggestion: "Olivia is the best name," provoking Peter's response: "Olivia was my number one choice but Em's not sure."

The 51-year-old celebrity added that two other appealing choices were contenders for the baby's name. "Athena is also in the running. Not sure how Em's feels about it but I LOVE it," he wrote, "Charlotte is also in the running. I like Charlie," reports the Irish Mirror.

Peter and Emily have hit a stumbling block when it comes to naming their third child. The TV personality previously revealed in his New! Magazine column that he fancied the name Keanu, inspired by the actor Keanu Reeves, due to its decreasing popularity.

However, the arrival of a baby girl threw his plans into disarray.

Struggling to find common ground with Emily on a suitable name, Peter has even suggested that the newborn might remain unnamed for weeks, drawing parallels to their older daughter Millie, who was initially called Rose for her first six weeks. With no resolution in sight, Peter is considering stepping back and allowing Emily to take the lead.

"We've been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don't seem to agree on them. So I think it's only fair that Emily decides - I hope she picks a good one," Peter recently admitted. Yet, as Emily recovers from giving birth, the quest for the perfect name has slowed.

"We are still no closer to a name for our newest bundle of joy. Any time Emily and I talk about it, it just gets put aside. Since Emily and I agreed for her to be the one to choose, it seems to have slowed down the process even more," he expressed on April 23, 2024. "She is recovering after all, so I totally get it."

The couple's fans are left wondering if a name will be chosen any time soon.
